Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating for no apparent reason – more than is necessary for temperature regulation. It affects the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits, or the face. Here you can read about causes, symptoms, and treatment options, including PediSpray® for sweaty feet.
What is hyperhidrosis?
Sweating regulates your body temperature. In hyperhidrosis, the body produces more sweat than necessary. Primary hyperhidrosis has no clear cause – often due to overactive nerve signals. Secondary hyperhidrosis is caused by medication, diabetes, thyroid problems, the menopause, or infections.

Symptoms
Soaked clothing, wet palms and soles of the feet, constant sweating even at rest, night sweats, skin problems, and unpleasant odour. Sometimes cold or clammy skin. Consult a doctor or dermatologist if symptoms persist.
Treatment of hyperhidrosis
Antiperspirants containing aluminium chloride temporarily block the sweat glands. For feet: PediSpray® or PediFris® Classic. Other options include iontophoresis (hands/feet), injection therapy (underarms), and medication. Avoid synthetic clothing and ensure good hygiene.
For sweaty feet: aluminium chloride or camphor (PediSpray®) tightens the skin and reduces sweating. Wear breathable socks and shoes. Seek advice from a dermatologist on the best course of action.

PediFris® Classic
Specially designed to combat unpleasant odours and excessive perspiration on the soles of the feet and between the toes using the unique PediFris® formula.Frequently asked questions about excessive sweating.
