Reduce perspiration on the skin
Use PediSpray® as part of your evening routine on clean, dry feet and allow it to dry completely. This helps to reduce the amount of moisture that is absorbed into the sole of the foot the following day.
Sweaty feet in sandals are not caused solely by a lack of ventilation. On hot days, the soles of your feet rest directly against the insole, whilst straps create additional friction.
The material of the sole determines how quickly moisture is absorbed or remains on the surface. With the right combination of footbed, cleaning and PediSpray®, you can keep your sandals comfortable for longer.

A sandal is open at the top, but the sole of the foot remains in contact with the same footbed for hours on end. Sun, walking and friction increase the heat in precisely that spot.
Leather and cork absorb moisture differently to smooth synthetic materials. This affects the feel and drying time, but even a breathable insole cannot stop your skin from producing sweat.
Adapt your approach to the material. This will protect the footbed and prevent moisture and odour from accumulating around the heel and forefoot.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Synthetic materials can often be cleaned whilst damp, whilst leather and cork usually require a gentler clean and a longer drying time.
Do not wear the same pair every day if the footbed still feels damp. Leave sandals to dry open and also check the undersides of straps and fastenings.
Less perspiration means less moisture that needs to be absorbed by leather or cork, and less dampness left on synthetic materials. This helps keep sandals more comfortable and fresher.
Leather often feels more natural and can absorb moisture, but takes time to dry. Cork is lightweight and moulds to the shape of the foot, whilst a protective layer determines how much moisture is absorbed. Smooth plastic absorbs hardly any moisture, meaning dampness remains on the surface for longer.
No single material is best for everyone. Consider wear time, maintenance and replaceable insoles. A breathable footbed that can never dry out may ultimately be less comfortable than a washable pair that you maintain properly.
Do not clean just the visible sole. Skin oils and moisture also accumulate under the toe straps and around the heel. Use a method suitable for the material and allow the sandals to dry completely outside the bag or cupboard.
PediFris® Classic is intended for use in shoes. In open sandals without socks, the powder does not stay in place reliably. PediSpray® applied to the skin and careful maintenance of the footbed are more suitable in this case.

Quick answers on materials, sticky feet, care and odour in sandals.
The soles of your feet rest directly on the footbed. Heat, walking and friction cause moisture to build up there, even if the top of the sandal is open.
Leather and cork can absorb moisture, but must be allowed to dry thoroughly. Smooth plastic absorbs little moisture and can therefore feel damp more quickly. Choose a material that suits the length of time you intend to wear the item and the level of care you can provide.
Clean the footbed, heel area and the underside of the straps in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow the pair to air-dry completely afterwards and change your sandals whilst the footbed is still damp.
No, PediSpray® is intended for use on the skin of the feet. Apply it to clean, dry feet in accordance with the instructions for use and allow it to dry. Care for leather and cork exclusively in accordance with the sandal manufacturer’s care instructions.
