How to stop sweaty feet in Crocs: dry & odour-neutral
Crocs feel airy, until your feet get warm and the pair starts to smell. Foam traps heat; clogs lined with fleece or fur can smell even worse. Open footwear does not automatically mean freshness.
The honest approach: PediSpray® on the skin to combat sweating, and PediFris® Classic Only where powder remains: in the sock with open Crocs, in the lining of lined clogs.
Crocs feel open, yet your feet still sweat

Crocs seem breathable: holes, flexible foam, quick to put on. Yet feet get warm and odours develop more quickly than you might expect. The foam and the snug fit restrict evaporation, even if they feel ‘open’.
With lined clogs (fleece or fur lining), the problem is worse: the lining traps heat and moisture and can become quite smelly. Fresh sweat hardly smells at all; the odour develops when bacteria in the lining, sole and on the skin break down the moisture.
And loose powder in open Crocs? That just falls out. Anyone who sprinkles Classic powder into the shoe without a sock or lining will notice little difference. The honest approach starts on the skin, and applies powder only where it will stay in place.
What does help against sweaty feet in Crocs
Washing and airing help to combat residual odours. Structurally drier feet mean less sweating on the skin, plus PediFris® Classic applied to areas where powder does not wear off.
Reduce sweating on the skin
Apply PediSpray® (Regular or Strong) in the morning to clean, dry feet. Less sweat means less moisture in warm Crocs, even without socks.
PediFris® Classic: in the sock, or in lined clogs
Open Crocs do not hold powder well: sprinkle PediFris® Classic into your sock. With lined clogs, however, the powder may be applied to the lining; that is precisely where the odour often originates.
Air, wash and change
Allow Crocs to air after use, wash them according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and alternate between two pairs on hot days. Dry your feet thoroughly, including between the toes.
First the skin, then the area where powder remains
PediSpray® reduces moisture. PediFris® Classic works inside the sock or in the lining of lined clogs, not as loose bedding in open Crocs.
Open Crocs versus lined clogs
Open Crocs: the powder should go inside the sock. On bare feet without a sock, loose powder is ineffective. Lined clogs: sprinkle Classic into the lining, leave them to dry, and also reduce sweating with PediSpray®. This is how you tackle the area that smells the worst.
Wash Crocs with lukewarm water and mild soap where the brand permits, rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Do not store them whilst damp. Alternating between two pairs on hot days prevents moisture from lingering.
Why PediSpray® is the foundation at Crocs
As Crocs are often worn without socks, the skin acts as a buffer. PediSpray® antiperspirant inhibits sweat production; a foot deodorant mainly masks odour. Classic fills the gap where powder is absent: in socks or linings.
On the skin: PediSpray®. Via sock or lining: PediFris® Classic.

Frequently asked questions about sweaty feet in Crocs
Normal sweating in Crocs, smelly lined clogs, washing, and where Classic does work.
Is it normal for your feet to sweat in Crocs?
Yes, sweating in Crocs is common because the foam and close contact trap heat, meaning sweat evaporates less easily than in open or breathable footwear. Clogs lined with fleece or fur can further exacerbate this effect.
Why do my feet smell so badly in Crocs?
A strong odour in Crocs is usually caused by moisture and bacteria in a warm, poorly ventilated pair, not just by “dirty feet”. Combine PediSpray® on the skin with PediFris® Classic in the sock (open Crocs) or in the lining (lined clogs).
Does PediFris® Classic powder work in Crocs?
PediFris® Classic only works in Crocs if the powder remains in place: in open Crocs, this means inside the sock, and in lined clogs, inside the lining where it remains in contact. On bare feet without socks, loose powder in open Crocs serves little purpose.
Do lined clogs start to smell more quickly?
Yes, lined clogs often start to smell more quickly because fleece or fur traps heat and moisture, thereby giving bacteria more scope to thrive. Airing, drying, using Classic on the lining and PediSpray® on the skin help to break that cycle.
Can you wash Crocs?
Most Crocs can be washed with lukewarm water and mild soap (check the brand), which removes any odours from the material. Washing does not stop the sweating itself; to do that, treatment of the skin and the lining is still required.
